What is Claude Code?
Claude Code is an AI tool by Anthropic that writes and changes software: you describe in plain language what you want built, and it works directly on your files.

Claude Code creates and edits files and runs commands, depending on your settings only after you approve. It runs in the terminal (the text window for commands), in development environments such as VS Code, as a desktop app and in the browser. Unlike a chat such as ChatGPT, which answers with text, Claude Code works directly on your files.
What it isn't
A replacement for professionals on large or business-critical systems. You check whatever Claude Code builds before using it.

- What Claude Code is and isn't:
- What it does well, where it gets things wrong, and when an off-the-shelf tool is the better choice.
- Setup:
- Installing it on your laptop, signing in with your Claude account, the first start. Terminal or desktop app, whichever suits you.
- Working safely:
- No sensitive data in prompts without checking first. Permissions set so that you approve changes and commands. Costs in view: plan limits and the API key trap.
- Describing tasks well:
- Goal, sample data, limits: how to describe a task so the result fits. Small steps rather than everything at once.
- Building a tool together:
- On a real task from your business: a report, a form, a small app or an automation.
- Maintaining and extending:
- Saving versions, tracing changes, writing down what the tool does. So someone still understands it three months from now.
Requirements
What you bring.
A laptop and a paid Claude account. You don't need to know how to program.
A paid Claude account
Included in Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise, not in the free plan. Each person takes out the plan directly with Anthropic.
A laptop
macOS 13 or later, Windows 10 (version 1809) or later or Linux, at least 4 GB of RAM. On company machines, check first whether you may install software.
No programming knowledge
Being comfortable with files and folders is enough.

- Intro call (15 min):
- You describe what your team wants to build and who's taking part. You get: an honest view of whether Claude Code fits or a ready-made tool will do.
- Preparation:
- Date, place and participants are fixed. Everyone brings one task from their working day. You get: the confirmation with the fixed price and the list of what needs to be set up beforehand.
- Training, half a day:
- Basics, setup and working safely, then you build. You get: a tool built together, your rules for data, permissions and costs, and a plan for maintaining it.
- Keep building:
- You maintain your tools yourselves. If one should become a fixed workflow, OsAI can extend it on request. You get: a free choice: keep building yourselves or have individual tools extended at a fixed price.

How much does the Claude Code training cost?
That depends mainly on how many people take part: one session is half a day for up to 6 people, on-site in the Stuttgart region or online. Not included is the Claude plan, which each person takes out directly with Anthropic. You get your fixed price after the free 15-min intro call, before any work starts.
Do I need programming skills?
No. The training is for owners, office staff and tech-minded employees with no programming background. You should be comfortable with files and folders. How to describe a task so that Claude Code builds the right thing is part of the training.
Which Claude account do I need for Claude Code?
A paid one. According to Anthropic, Claude Code is included in the Pro and Max plans, and in Team and Enterprise plans as well. The free plan does not include Claude Code. The plan's usage limits apply to Claude and Claude Code together. As of October 2026.
How long until I build my own tools?
The training takes half a day, and in it you build a first small tool together. How quickly more follow depends on the task and on practice. OsAI makes no fixed promise on that.
Is the training available on-site in Stuttgart?
Yes. OsAI is based in Fellbach and trains on-site in the Stuttgart region and the Rems-Murr district. For teams anywhere in Germany, the training is available online.
What about data protection and company data?
Claude Code works with an AI model in the cloud: whatever it reads goes there for processing. So in the training you practise with sample data and decide which data stays off-limits, such as personal data of customers and staff, contracts and trade secrets. Plus permissions: which folders Claude Code may read and which changes and commands you approve first.
Is this an official Anthropic training?
No. The Claude Code training is an independent training by OsAI and not an official Anthropic training. “Claude” is a trademark of Anthropic.
